Gota Patti Associate Artisans – Empowering Women Through Traditional Craft
In Bassi Tehsil, Jaipur (Rajasthan), more than 500 skilled women artisans are engaged in the traditional art of Gota Patti embroidery. These artisans work from their homes, equipped with basic infrastructure like charkhas and charpais, enabling them to balance their craft with household responsibilities.
Over 20 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) are active in this region, including Jai Bhim Swayam Sahayata Samuh, Jai Hanuman Swayam Sahayata Samuh, and Hare Ram Swayam Sahayata Samuh. The groups specialize in hand-embroidered products such as blouses, potli bags, kurtas, and sarees.
These beautiful handcrafted items are supplied to retailers and wholesalers across Jaipur. Additionally, some SHGs have expanded their market reach by selling their products online through the www.artisanshop.in platform.
